# Auktion als letztes Mittel

Eine von der ICANN durchgeführte Auktion, die entscheidet, welcher Bewerber eine gTLD-Zeichenfolge erhält, wenn mehrere sie wollen und andere Wege scheitern. In der Runde 2026 sind Auktionen der ICANN der einzige zulässige Weg, verbleibende Konkurrenzsituationen zu lösen, weil private Vereinbarungen verboten sind.
