# ccTLD-Stilllegung

Das Verfahren, mit dem eine länderspezifische Domain aus der Root-Zone entfernt wird, nachdem ihr Code aus der Liste ISO 3166-1 gestrichen wurde, etwa weil ein Land nicht mehr existiert. Die IANA gewährt dem Manager eine Vorlaufzeit von mehreren Jahren, damit Nutzer anderswohin umziehen können.
