# Delegation (DNS)

Die Übertragung der Zuständigkeit für einen Teil des DNS auf andere Nameserver. Eine TLD-Registry delegiert jede registrierte Domain an die Nameserver, die ihr Inhaber gewählt hat, indem sie NS-Records veröffentlicht. Antworten diese Server nicht, spricht man von einer Lame Delegation. Die Aufnahme einer neuen TLD in die Root-Zone ist eine andere Art der Delegation.
