# Registry-Betreiber

Die Organisation, die den Vertrag oder das Mandat für den Betrieb einer TLD hält und deren Regeln festlegt, etwa wer registrieren darf und zu welchem Großhandelspreis. Bei einer gTLD ist das ein Registry Agreement mit der ICANN, bei einer ccTLD ein lokaler Rahmen. Er kann einen Backend-Anbieter mit dem Betrieb des technischen Systems der Registry beauftragen.
