# 60-day lock

An ICANN rule for gTLD transfers. The registrar may refuse a transfer within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer. After a change of registrant, a 60-day block applies unless the registrant opted out. Changes adopted on 7 June 2026, not yet in force, replace the first with a mandatory 30-day block and remove the second.
