# abuse contact

The published contact where a registrar or registry receives reports of DNS abuse or illegal activity. ICANN contracts require gTLD registrars to have one, review reports and act when abuse is confirmed. Since 5 April 2024 it can be an email address or a web form. A separate phone line, watched around the clock, serves law enforcement.
