# bulk registration abuse

Registering large numbers of domains at once, often through an automated interface and at low prices, to use them in spam, phishing or malware campaigns before they are blocked. Bulk registration itself is legitimate and common. Research funded by ICANN links low prices and easy automation to more malicious registrations.
