# ccTLD delegation and transfer

The way IANA assigns a country code domain to a manager, or moves it to a new one. IANA checks that the new manager is technically able, is based in the country unless the government decides otherwise, and has local support and the government's support or non-objection. A transfer also needs the current manager's consent and used to be called a redelegation.
