# contact verification

The check a gTLD registrar makes after a new registration, an incoming transfer or a change to the registrant's details. The registrant must confirm an email address or phone number, usually by clicking a link. If no confirmation arrives within 15 days, the registrar must suspend the domain or verify the contact by hand.
