# Data Processing Specification

An optional add-on to the Registry Agreement and the Registrar Accreditation Agreement that sets out how ICANN and a registry or registrar handle registration data under privacy laws. A contracted party can ask for it when it needs such terms to comply with the law. ICANN says it is not a data processing agreement.
