# 2024 DNS abuse amendments

Changes to the Registry Agreement and the Registrar Accreditation Agreement in force since 5 April 2024. They oblige gTLD registries and registrars to act promptly to stop or disrupt DNS abuse when they have actionable evidence, and ICANN Contractual Compliance enforces this. Before, registrars only had to investigate and respond.
