# DS record

Delegation Signer

A DNS record placed in the parent zone, such as the registry's zone for a TLD, that holds a fingerprint of the child domain's DNSSEC key. It connects the domain to the chain of trust. The owner normally submits it through the registrar when turning on DNSSEC.
