# EPDP

Expedited Policy Development Process

A faster version of ICANN's policy development process. The GNSO Council can start one only by a large majority, and only for a narrow issue or one already studied in earlier work. The best-known EPDP began in 2018 after the GDPR, to replace the Temporary Specification with a lasting policy on gTLD registration data.
