# GAC

Governmental Advisory Committee

The ICANN committee through which governments advise on public policy. Its members are national governments and distinct economies, and intergovernmental organizations take part as observers. Its advice, often published in a communiqué after each ICANN meeting, must be considered by the ICANN Board. It cannot make policy itself.
