# ICANN fees

The payments that registries and registrars make to ICANN under their contracts. Registrars pay a yearly accreditation fee, a variable fee and a fee per domain transaction. Registries pay a fixed fee and, above a set volume, a fee per transaction. These fees fund most of ICANN's budget.
