# NTIA

National Telecommunications and Information Administration

An agency of the United States Department of Commerce that advises on telecommunications and internet policy. It held the contract for the IANA functions until 2016. It still represents the United States in the GAC and holds the Cooperative Agreement with Verisign that covers .com.
