# PKI

public key infrastructure

The set of certificates, certificate authorities and rules that lets software check who owns a public key, for example that a web server belongs to the domain it claims. TLS certificates for websites are its best-known use. The PKI Consortium, an industry group, runs a yearly conference on post-quantum cryptography.
