# PICs

Public Interest Commitments

The binding promises in a gTLD Registry Agreement that are meant to protect the public. Some are mandatory for all new gTLDs, and others were offered by applicants. In the 2026 Round the voluntary kind are called Registry Voluntary Commitments. ICANN will reject any that would make it enforce limits on website content.
