# RDAP

Registration Data Access Protocol

The standard way to look up registration data for domain names and IP addresses. It sends structured, machine-readable answers over HTTPS and can give different users different levels of access. Since 28 January 2025, RDAP has been the definitive source of gTLD registration data, replacing WHOIS.
