# redemptionPeriod

A status code showing that the domain has been deleted and is in the redemption grace period. It no longer works, but the former holder can still recover it through the registrar, usually for an extra fee. In gTLDs other than sponsored ones, this stage lasts 30 days and is followed by pendingDelete.
