# RPZ

Response Policy Zone

A way to load blocking rules into a DNS resolver, often called a DNS firewall. The rules arrive as a special zone, usually fed by a blocklist provider. When a user asks for a listed domain, the resolver gives a different answer, such as no answer at all or the address of a warning page.
