# sTLD

Sponsored Top-Level Domain

A type of gTLD created for a specific community and run with a sponsor that represents it, such as .coop or .aero. Registration is usually limited to that community. Some ICANN rules apply differently: for example, sTLDs are not required to offer a redemption grace period.
