# EDNS

Extension Mechanisms for DNS

Estensione del protocollo DNS originale che permette ai messaggi DNS di essere più grandi e di contenere opzioni aggiuntive. DNSSEC dipende da essa, che trasporta anche funzioni come indicazioni sulla rete dell'utente. Server e firewall che la gestiscono male possono far fallire le interrogazioni.
