# Afternic opens its Portfolio API to all sellers

## in plain words

Afternic is a marketplace where people sell domain names, which are web addresses. Its new Portfolio API lets sellers use software to manage many names at once. Sellers can add listings in bulk and check which of their names people are searching for.

Afternic, the domain aftermarket platform run by GoDaddy, has made its Portfolio API available to all sellers. The API lets sellers automate routine tasks and manage their portfolios with other software rather than only through the web system.

The source names two uses. Sellers with many listings to add can upload them, set prices, switch LTO on or off and choose landers through the API, which it describes as easier than the web system for bulk work. Sellers can also pull search data for their domains to see which names are trending.

The source says the API is most useful for sellers with large portfolios, for those who want to connect their Afternic portfolio to third-party tools, and for automating regular processes. It adds that the API is especially powerful when combined with GoDaddy's Auctions API and Domains API. It also suggests a simple app that emails trending search data on a schedule.

The source advises care with API keys and says they should never be pasted into an LLM chat. It also notes that many sellers should keep using Afternic Portfolio Agent, which can perform the same listing and statistics tasks.
