# ASI moves to ASI.com after acquiring the domain name

A company called ASI has bought the short web address ASI.com. It used to be called Airspace Intelligence and used a longer web address. The company also raised $325 million in a funding round, which valued it at $3 billion.

A company called ASI announced a $325 million Series C funding round at a $3 billion valuation. The company, which was originally known as Airspace Intelligence, recently acquired the ASI.com domain name, according to a report by domainInvesting.com.

ASI had operated on the hyphenated Airspace-Intelligence.com domain. It has used ASI as a shorter name for some time, and its website, news releases, social media and references now prominently use the ASI branding. The ASI.com domain currently forwards to the Airspace-Intelligence.com website, and the author of the report expects that to change at some point.

The change was spotted through a recent registrar transfer, a Whois change and a nameserver change, tracked with DomainIQ and DomainTools. ASI.com had previously been registered at Cloudflare and used by a company called Automatic Systems, Inc., which now uses ASIConveyors.com for its website. The domain then transferred to Namecheap, where the registrant details are redacted on the Whois record.

Because of the redacted information, the report could not conclusively confirm the acquisition. An update says Rob Schutz from Snagged confirmed the domain changed hands in a deal he brokered on behalf of the buyer.

The report says ASI.com matches the branding the company already uses. It removes the hyphen and the long Airspace-Intelligence.com name, and gives the company a short, memorable three-letter .com domain. ASI is also a common acronym for artificial superintelligence, which the report says adds further meaning and value to the name in the AI space. The company’s homepage describes ASI as a builder of AI engines that model physical reality and orchestrate high-consequence operations in real time.
