# Domain name registrations reached 411.6 million at end of Q3 2026

Verisign, which runs the .com and .net registries, says the number of web addresses registered worldwide reached 411.6 million by the end of September 2026. That is 9.9 million more than in the previous three months. Its data partner DNIB.com published the figures in its quarterly report.

Verisign, Inc. reported that the third quarter of 2026 closed with 411.6 million domain name registrations across all top-level domains, according to the latest Domain Name Industry Brief Quarterly Report from DNIB.com. That is an increase of 9.9 million, or 2.5%, compared with the second quarter of 2026, and a rise of 33.0 million, or 8.7%, year over year.

The .com and .net top-level domains had a combined 182.5 million registrations at the end of the quarter, up 3.4 million, or 1.9%, from the second quarter and up 10.5 million, or 6.1%, year over year. As of September 30, 2026, the .com base stood at 169.8 million and the .net base at 12.6 million. New .com and .net registrations totaled 13.1 million at the end of the third quarter, compared with 10.6 million a year earlier.

Total country-code top-level domain registrations were 151.4 million at the end of the quarter, an increase of 2.8 million, or 1.9%, from the second quarter and 6.6 million, or 4.6%, year over year. Verisign listed the top 10 ccTLDs as of September 30, 2026 as .cn, .de, .uk, .ru, .nl, .br, .fr, .au, .in and .eu.
