# Registration opens for the 2026 .US Virtual Town Hall

## in plain words

A company that runs the .US internet address ending has opened sign-ups for a free online meeting. The meeting takes place on November 5 and is open to anyone. Speakers will discuss how .US is run, kept safe and used by people in their communities.

GoDaddy Registry has opened registration for the 2026 .US Virtual Town Hall, an online public meeting set for Thursday, November 5, starting at 12 PM Eastern Time. Registration is free, and the event is open to anyone who wants to take part.

The town hall is hosted by Registry Services, which the announcement describes as the usTLD Administrator, in collaboration with the .US Stakeholder Council. The yearly gathering is meant to bring together domain professionals, internet policy groups, civic organizations, business leaders and members of the .US community. Attendees can hear current updates, look at emerging priorities and share feedback about America’s country-code top-level domain.

Karen Rose, a partner at Interisle Consulting Group, will give a special guest presentation. The announcement credits her with a long career in government, industry and global Internet institutions. While serving at the FCC and NTIA, she helped write the 1998 U.S. policy framework that brought competition into the domain name system and later led to the creation of ICANN. She later became a senior executive at the Internet Society, where she worked on Internet growth, access and development worldwide.

The discussion will cover three areas: the state of the domain industry and .US, including growth and opportunities; policy and security priorities affecting the health, integrity and stability of the namespace; and community outreach and civic impact, including ways to support positive uses of .US. The featured speakers are Dustin Loup, chair of the .US Stakeholder Council; Leigh Aragon, senior director of business operations and .US contracts manager; Christy High, product manager for Locality; Melissa Cohen, operations and client services; and Kristin Johnson, council secretariat at Registry Services global marketing and brand.

The announcement says the event suits anyone interested in domain names, internet governance, namespace security, public policy, civic technology and the .US domain. GoDaddy Registry describes itself as one of the world’s largest domain name registry providers, operating top-level domains for sovereign nations, city governments, global brands and other registries.
