# Verisign reports 5.7% revenue growth for third quarter 2026

Verisign runs the .com and .net internet address systems. In its latest quarterly report, the company said it earned more money than a year before and that more people registered website names. It also said it will pay shareholders a dividend.

Verisign, the company that runs the .com and .net domain registries, reported its financial results for the third quarter of 2026 on October 22, 2026. Revenue for the quarter reached $443 million, up 5.7 percent from the same quarter of 2025. Operating income rose to $296 million from $284 million, and net income was $213 million, the same as a year earlier.

Diluted earnings per share were $2.35, compared with $2.27 in the third quarter of 2025. The company said a pre-tax operating loss of $7.5 million tied to certain assets held for sale reduced diluted earnings per share by $0.06 in the quarter.

On the business side, Verisign said the .com and .net domain name base ended the quarter at 182.5 million registrations, a 6.1 percent increase year over year and a net gain of 3.36 million names during the quarter. It processed 13.1 million new registrations in the quarter, up from 10.6 million a year earlier. The final renewal rate for the second quarter of 2026 was 75.2 percent, compared with 75.5 percent a year earlier, and the company noted that renewal rates are not fully measurable until 45 days after a quarter ends.

Chief Executive Jim Bidzos said the company delivered a strong operational quarter. He said the rollout of the .web top-level domain is on track and that Verisign opened the limited beta phase of its high-assurance validation service, Verisign InformedTM.

On the financial side, Verisign ended the quarter with $476 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities, down $104 million from year-end 2025. Cash flow from operations was $268 million, compared with $308 million a year earlier. Deferred revenues reached $1.46 billion. The company repurchased 0.7 million shares for $189 million, and $1.36 billion remains under its repurchase program, which has no expiration date.

The board approved a cash dividend of $0.81 per share on October 19, 2026, payable to holders of record on November 17, 2026, with payment due on November 24, 2026. Verisign said it would host a conference call on the results the same day.
