A formal letter, usually from a lawyer, that tells a domain holder to stop using a name and often to hand it over, or face legal action. A trademark owner may send one before filing a UDRP Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy ICANN's out-of-court process for trademark disputes over domain names.
