Wewi Mobile keeps using the Finetwork brand past its deadline
in plain words
A small phone and internet company called Wewi Mobile still uses the Finetwork name even though its time to stop has passed. Vodafone now owns that brand and is waiting for a court to decide who controls Wewi.
Full summary
Wewi Mobile, an operator based in Alicante, had until Saturday, October 10, to stop using the Finetwork brand when selling its services. After that date, its website at finetwork.com still offers fibre and mobile rates under the name, and its social media profiles keep posting with the same brand and image.
Vodafone Spain owns the Finetwork brand. Pascual Perez, founder of Wewi, sold the brand and several domains to Vodafone for 15 million in November 2025, weeks after a court allowed Vodafone to take control of Wewi as payment for its debts.
Later, the Provincial Court of Alicante overturned that earlier decision and returned Wewi to its former partners. Perez then tried to recover the brand and stop Vodafone from using it, but the court rejected his request.
Since July, two companies have operated under the Finetwork name. Vodafone opened finetwork.es, where it sells three mobile tariffs marketed as Finetwork Powered by Lowi. Wewi continued to use the brand until its agreement expired.
Wewi has not told its customers of any change and shows no sign of continuing under another name. Losing its main asset, the brand, would make Wewi's business unviable.
The ownership dispute over Wewi is expected to be resolved in the coming weeks. Vodafone may be waiting for that ruling before acting, since if it regains control of the company it would prefer to keep as much of Wewi's customer base as possible.
